Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player secured his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, managing just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden title after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface after spring of 2023.
Success also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at 21 distinct competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my children at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, comprising in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent outbursts on court had prompted some to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour title, gained dominance to create a decider.
Moutet saved four initial break points in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he earned the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
